Some thoughts about lotion, because it seems timely

I don’t know about you, but my hands are DRY. I’m a committed lotion person year round and have been for decades now (just ask my college roommate! Hi Ann!), but this is the time of year when I need a little tube of lotion everywhere I go -- one for the car (yes, even if it freezes), one for my office, one by the bed, one by the living room couch.

These days, I have two favorites: Aveda hand relief for when I’m feeling fancy, and Aesop hand cream for when I’m feeling even fancier. For body lotion, I never sleep on an unscented Lubriderm or Cetaphil situation, but when I want some luxury, I use this body butter, which I first purchased the day I knew I’d be stuck in Canada for 10 extra days with Covid, and that citrus smell transported me to the beach every time I used it.

ANYWAY, here’s some other stuff I’m enjoying these days, which you might like too!

• I’ve been trying to make my way through some of the 2024 titles that I haven’t been able to read yet, and I’m so glad I finally got to Greta & Valdin! It’s charming and voice-y and fun.

• I am really enjoying High Potential on Hulu! I thought the trailer looked terrrrrrible, but when I found out it had shared DNA with Veronica Mars, I knew I had to try it. The premise is absurd and it’s not prestige, but it’s fun to see Kaitlin Olson from It’s Always Sunny play a new role, and the tone works for me.

• Bad Sisters is back for a second season on Apple TV+, and I can’t wait to dive into it! Season 1 was one of my favorite TV shows of 2022 and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next. I will also watch anything Sharon Horgan does!!!!

• Did you know you can cook grilled cheese in the oven!?!?!?

• I’ve been having so much fun co-hosting the Official Dune: Prophecy Podcast! If you’re watching the TV show, you should check out the pod!
