The Magicians is a great show! I generally enjoyed the books and the show is, in most ways, better.

Eliot was my least favorite character in the books but he is *amazing* in the show. He and Margo just work. Penny is very well cast. Julia's story is different but the actress who plays her and her new story are very good.

The biggest problem the Magicians always had was that the main character is just annoying. The show mitigates that a little, but also gives him great interactions with other, non-annoying, characters that mean it's not Quentin sucks all the time. ;)

(This is getting longer than I meant).

I think about Quentin (a depressed sad boy in the Magicians) as compared to Kaladin (a depressed sad boy in The Stormlight Archives) way more than I should.

I too am a huge fan of The Magicians tv series, and I had read the books first. Grossman has a new book out that I haven't looked at yet. I loved the musical episodes, and I did enjoy the ending arc they gave to Quentin Coldwater bringing in his skill of minor mending. I loved that the showrunners clearly were huge fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but they wanted to make a less toxic show (or by all accounts be less toxic as showrunners).

So interesting. I somehow did not know about the term visible mending, not my style but cute for others and I am all for mending clothes for longer life.

Magicians was the best. I hope one day we get a tv movie or something like Wynona Earp.

Visible mending/sashiko is so much fun! I LOVED working on my 2 pairs of jeans that got a little TOO holey.

The Magicians is one of my ultimate favorite TV shows!!! It’s one of the rare times where the show was better than the books (I honestly couldn’t even make it through the books. Quentin was too annoying). But every character on the show was absolutely perfect!!!!! I made my husband do a rewatch with me and now he loves it too,

I love that visable mending is gaining traction! I like to cross stitch and dabble in embroidery so I like to use some of those embroidery techniques. Recently my cat ripped a few holes in a favorite shirt. I stitched flowers over the holes and get comments on the shirt all the time!
