As a litigator who spends way too much of her time begging her friends not to whine about jury duty, Claire’s delight fills me with great joy. Also, I cannot wait to try these recipes!
I've made that carrot dip, and it is so so good, intense, and sweet, and the best kind of carroty. I agree it would be incredible on like a crunchy veg sandwich, maybe some cream cheese spread on the other side, some lightly salted cukes and some summer lettuces. Mmmmm.
Thanks for the heads up on Jenny Slate - snagged a couple tix this morning!
I’m in it for dips, too! I love to make a garlicky-herby white bean dip. In Sami Tamimi’s cookbook Falastin, there’s an amazing beet-sweet potato-date dip with labneh, bulgur, herbs - it’s quite a delicious recipe with fresh pita to dip. Also, Georgian cuisine is full of vegetable & walnut based spreads, which I make along with Georgian breads (Khachapuri) when I have lots of kitchen playing time. Yum!!!
Don’t apologize about the dip segment title, I loved it and got that little ditty stuck in my head for a fun bit. Brought a big smile. Excited to try some of these dips over the 4th of July! Hope the crowning went well and soft foods are comforting you through.
Greta! Are you aware of the newish cookbook BIG DIP ENERGY?!

What I love most about this is the suggested carb pairings! This is the level of detail I need in my life.
