High Fidelity has always been one of my all time favorite movies. I still know every word but rewatched it last month and….was pretty horrified by Rob! I still love it but phew is it complicated. Laura deserved better.
Have you seen the Hulu adaptation of it with Zoe Kravitz? Loved - LOVED- the spin that put on it with her as Rob. I also adored the movie until it occurred to me it was a blue print for every broken “but I can fix him!” boyfriend I’d had in my 20’s. The show was like a breath of fresh air.
Dan Harris (10 percent happier podcast) has a great interview with Anna Marie Tendler in the queue this week, I’m intrigued and will read her book soon!
Those cookies look amazing! I can’t bring myself to turn the oven on in the summer hahaha! I’m definitely ready for autumn and crockpot stews!

This movie was basically my personality in 2000. Agreed that so much doesn’t hold up, alas.
For savory, I love Deb Perelman’s tomato corn pie. The biscuit crust! The cheese! The perfect marriage of the tomato corn bounty of late summer! https://smittenkitchen.com/2009/08/tomato-and-corn-pie/
For sweet, I’ve made Amanda Hessler’s super-simple peach tart recipe for many years. My secret is to double the topping! https://food52.com/blog/24303-peach-tart-amanda-hesser
For me it's Chef and the Farmer, Vivian Howard's tomato pie.
